You are invited to a special visit to the Turner Sims in our 50th anniversary year with the BBC Singers, who mark their own centenary in 2024.

The programme includes Joby Talbot's iconic choral piece Path of Miracles. Over three years in the making, this work was premiered in 2005 and has been captivating people worldwide ever since. Based on the most enduring route of Catholic pilgrimage, the great Pilgrimage to Santiago, the four movements are titled with the names of the four main staging posts of the 'Camino Frances' - the central axis of a network of pilgrimage routes to the Spanish city.

Reviewing the recent recording of the work, Gramophone hailed its '...epic, mystical quality - charged with the same sacred energy that draws listeners to the music of John Tavener and Arvo Pärt.'

'I would go as far to suggest that Talbot's Path of Miracles is to the first decade of the 21st-century what Arvo Pärt's Passio was twenty years earlier.' classicalsource.com

'Joby Talbot's ambitious a cappella Path of Miracles is little short of a musical miracle in itself... It is a tour de force and absolutely stunning.' Choir and Organ Magazine
