Join us for a vibrant exploration of the rich cultural heritage of 'Cumbia' music and dance among Colombian and Latin American families in the UK. With the beat of a drum and the melody of a flute, Colombians from coastal regions pass down their cultural traditions to younger generations. In diaspora, Cumbia becomes a powerful way to celebrate festive occasions and evoke memories and emotions connected to home.

This interactive drop-in workshop will begin with a hands-on session where participants can design and make their own Cumbia skirts and bandanas. Next, enjoy a captivating demonstration of Cumbia dancing, paired with a brief introduction to the history and significance of this iconic Colombian folkloric dance. During the final hour and a half, participants will learn a choreography led by a talented Colombian family of Cumbia dancers.

Whether you come with family or friends, everyone is warmly welcome to join in the fun!
